| 21:1 | And He looked up and saw the rich ones putting their gifts into the treasury, | And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. |
| 21:2 | and He also saw a certain poor widow putting two mites in there. | And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. |
| 21:3 | So He said, "Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than they all have;" | And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: |
| 21:4 | because, all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty has put in all the livelihood that she had." | For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had. |
| 21:5 | Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and donations, He said, | And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, |
| 21:6 | "As for these things which you see, the days will come in which not one stone will be left upon another that will not be thrown down." | As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. |
| 21:7 | So they asked Him, saying, "Teacher, but when shall these things be? And what sign shall there be when these things are about to take place?" | And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? |
| 21:8 | And He said: "Take heed that you be not be deceived. Because, many will come in My name, saying, 'I am Christ,' and, 'The time has drawn near.' Therefore do not go after them." | And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. |
| 21:9 | But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; because, these things must happen first, but the end is not yet." | But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. |
| 21:10 | Then He said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom." | Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: |
| 21:11 | And there will be large earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven." | And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. |
| 21:12 | But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons; being brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake." | But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. |
| 21:13 | But it will turn out for you as a testimony." | And it shall turn to you for a testimony. |
| 21:14 | Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer;" | Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: |
| 21:15 | because, I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist." | For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. |
| 21:16 | But you will be betrayed also by parents and brethren, relatives and friends; and some of you they will cause to be put to death." | And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. |
| 21:17 | And you will be hated by all people for My name's sake." | And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. |
| 21:18 | But not a hair of your head will perish." | But there shall not an hair of your head perish. |
| 21:19 | By your endurance you possess your souls." | In your patience possess ye your souls. |
| 21:20 | "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near." | And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. |
| 21:21 | Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of it depart out, and let not those who are in the country enter into it." | Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. |
| 21:22 | Because these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled." | For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. |
| 21:23 | But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babes in those days! Because there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people." | But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. |
| 21:24 | And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled." | And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. |
| 21:25 | "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;" | And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; |
| 21:26 | men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, because the powers of heaven will be shaken." | Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. |
| 21:27 | And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory." | And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. |
| 21:28 | Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near." | And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. |
| 21:29 | Then He spoke to them a parable: "Look at the fig tree, and all the trees." | And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; |
| 21:30 | When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near." | When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. |
| 21:31 | So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near." | So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. |
| 21:32 | Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place." | Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. |
| 21:33 | Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away." | Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. |
| 21:34 | "But take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be weighed down with over indulgence, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that Day come upon you unexpectedly." | And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. |
| 21:35 | Because, it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the entire earth." | For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. |
| 21:36 | Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man." | Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. |
| 21:37 | And in the daytime He was teaching in the temple, but at night He went out and stayed on the mount that is called The Mount of Olives. | And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. |
| 21:38 | Then early in the morning all the people came to Him in the temple to hear Him. | And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him. |
