13:1There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
13:2And Jesus replied and said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things?"And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
13:3I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish."I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
13:4Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?"Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
13:5I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish."I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
13:6He also spoke this parable: "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none."He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
13:7Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, 'Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?'"Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
13:8But he answered and said to him, 'Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it."And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
13:9And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, then after that you can cut it down.'"And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
13:10Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
13:11And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way lift herself up.And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
13:12But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity."And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
13:13And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
13:14But the ruler of the synagogue responded with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath day; and he said to the people, "There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day."And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
13:15The Lord then replied to him and said, "You hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or his donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?"The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
13:16So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, behold, for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?"And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
13:17And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
13:18Then He said, "What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it?"Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?
13:19It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and threw in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches."It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
13:20And again He said, "To what shall I liken the kingdom of God?"And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
13:21It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid three measures of meal inside until it was all leavened."It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
13:22And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
13:23Then one said to Him, "Lord, are there few who are saved?" And He said to them,Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
13:24"Strive to enter through the narrow gate, because many, I say to you, will seek to enter in and will not be able."Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
13:25When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open for us,' and He will reply and say to you, 'I do not know you, where you are from,'"When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
13:26then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You have taught in our streets.'"Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
13:27But He will say, 'I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.'"But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
13:28There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out."There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
13:29And they will come from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south, and will sit down in the kingdom of God."And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
13:30And behold there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last."And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
13:31On the same day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, "Get out and depart from here, because Herod will kill You."The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.
13:32And He said to them, "You go and tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I will be perfected.'"And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
13:33Nevertheless I must walk today, tomorrow, and the day following; because, it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem."Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
13:34"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to you! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
13:35Behold! Your house is left to you desolate; and truly, I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you will say, 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!'"Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
