9:1So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came into His own city. And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.
9:2Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, "Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you."And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
9:3And, immediately some of the scribes said within themselves, "This Man blasphemes!"And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.
9:4But Jesus knowing their thoughts said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?"And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
9:5Because which is easiest to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Rise up and walk?'"For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
9:6But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins," then He said to the paralytic, "Rise up, take up your bed, and go to your house."But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
9:7And he rose up, and departed to his house. And he arose, and departed to his house.
9:8Now when the crowds saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
9:9And as Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, "Follow Me." So he rose up, and followed Him.And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
9:10Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
9:11And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, "Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
9:12But when Jesus heard that, He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick."But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
9:13But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' Because, I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
9:14Then the disciples of John came to Him, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?"Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
9:15And Jesus said to them, "Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast."And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
9:16No man puts a piece of new cloth on old clothing, because, that which is put in to patch it rips away from the clothing, and the tear is made worse."No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
9:17Neither do they put new grape juice into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, and the grape juice spills out, and the wineskins perish. But they put new grape juice into new wineskins, and both are preserved."Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
9:18While He spoke these things to them, behold, a certain ruler came, and worshiped Him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand upon her, and she will live."While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
9:19So Jesus rose up, and followed him, and so did His disciples. And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.
9:20And, suddenly a woman, who had a discharge of blood for twelve years, came from behind Him, and touched the edge of His clothes. And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
9:21Because she said within herself, "If only I may touch His clothes, I will be made well."For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
9:22But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her, He said, "Be cheerful daughter; your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
9:23And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the musicians and the people making a noise,And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
9:24He said to them, "Make room, because the girl is not dead, but is sleeping." And they laughed and mocked at Him.He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
9:25But when the people were put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
9:26And the fame of this went out into all that land. And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
9:27And when Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, shouting, and saying, "You, Son of David, have mercy on us!"And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.
9:28And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
9:29Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith let it be to you."Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
9:30And their eyes were opened. And Jesus firmly warned them, saying, "See that no one knows it."And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
9:31But when they had departed, they spread the fame about Him in all that country. But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
9:32As they went out, behold, they brought to Him a mute man possessed with a demon. As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
9:33And when the demon was cast out, the mute spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, "It has never been seen like this in Israel!"And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
9:34But the Pharisees said, "He casts out demons by the ruler of the demons."But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
9:35Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
9:36But when He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were exhausted, and scattered everywhere, like sheep having no shepherd. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
9:37Then He said to His disciples, "Truly the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few."Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
9:38Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest that He will send out laborers into His harvest."Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
