3:9not because we do not have authority, but to make of ourselves an example of how you should follow us.Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
3:10Because, even when we were with you, we commanded you this: That if anyone will not work, neither should he eat.For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
3:11Because, we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies.For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
3:12Now those who are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
3:13But as for you, brethren, do not become weary in doing good.But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
3:14And if anyone does not obey our word in this letter, note that person, and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed.And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
3:15Yet count him not as an enemy, but instruct him as a brother.Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
3:16Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
3:17The salutation of Paul with my own hand, which is confirmation in every letter; so I write.The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.
3:18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. <<The second epistle to the Thessalonians was written from Athens.>>
3:8Neither did we eat anyone's bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you,Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
3:7Because you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, because we were not disorderly among you;For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
3:6Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us.Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
3:5Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the perseverance for Christ.And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
3:4And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do the things that we command you.And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
3:3But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and keep you from evil.But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
3:2and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; because not everyone has faith.And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
3:1Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have a free course, and be glorified, just as it is with you,Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
