4:1 | After these things I looked, and behold, a door was opened in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was as it was of a trumpet speaking with me, which said, "Come up here, and I will show you things that must be after this." |
4:2 | And immediately I was in the spirit; and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. |
4:3 | And He who sat there looked like a jasper and a sardine stone; and there was a rainbow around about the throne, which looked like an emerald. |
4:4 | And around the throne were twenty four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty four elders sitting, clothed in white clothing; and they had golden crowns on their heads. |
4:5 | And lightnings, thunderings, and voices proceeded from the throne. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. |
4:6 | And before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four creatures full of eyes in the front and the back. |
4:7 | And the first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. |
4:8 | And the four creatures, each of them having six wings around him, also were full of eyes inside. And they do not rest day or night, saying: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was, and is and is to come!" |
4:9 | And whenever the creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, |
4:10 | the twenty four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and throw their crowns before the throne, saying: |
4:11 | "You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; because, You have created all things, and for Your pleasure they are and were created." |
