King James Bible 2016

1:1Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon our beloved friend, and fellow laborer,
1:2to our beloved Apphia, Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house:
1:3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:4I thank my God, making mention of you always in my prayers,
1:5hearing of your love and faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints,
1:6that the sharing of your faith may become effectual by acknowledging every good thing that is in you in Christ Jesus.
1:7Because, we have great joy and consolation in your love, because, the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother.
1:8Therefore, although I could be very bold in Christ to command you that which is appropriate,
1:9yet for love's sake I rather make request of you, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ:
1:10I make request of you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten while in my chains,
1:11who was formerly unprofitable to you, but is now profitable to you and to me.
1:12Whom I have sent again. Therefore you receive him, that is, my own heart,
1:13whom I would have kept with me, that in your position, he might have ministered to me in the chains of the gospel.
1:14But I did not want to do anything without your consent, that your goodness might not be of obligation, but voluntary.
1:15Because, perhaps he departed for a season for this reason, that you might receive him forever,
1:16not now as a servant, but more than a servant, a beloved brother, especially to me but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord?
1:17If then you count me as a partner, receive him as you would me.
1:18If he has wronged you, or owes you anything, put that on my account.
1:19I Paul have written this with my own hand, I will repay it, not to mention to you how you also owe to me even your own lives.
1:20Yes, brother, let me have joy from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in the Lord.
1:21Having confidence in your obedience, I wrote to you, knowing that you will also do even more than I say.
1:22But, meanwhile, prepare for me a guest room also, because I trust that through the prayers of you all I shall be given to you all.
1:23Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you,
1:24also Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, my fellow laborers.
1:25The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
